About Susan Marcinelli PhD

“Sometimes the things that make the biggest difference are simple yet new approaches.  The more elegant and straightforward the solution, the greater the odds that it can be executed and sustained.”

Susan’s insights and expertise are an outcome of a successful 26+ year business track record both as a senior executive and as an external advisor to Fortune 200 CEOs and top of the house teams.

The work that Susan loves – and what she believes is at the heart of any organization’s sustained competitive advantage – is focused on its people.  Not the typical “human capital” strategies – but strategies that maximize the potential of individuals and teams –and especially the contributions of leaders.  Often organizations are not reaping the optimal results they could be gaining from their current talent investments.  Susan wants to impact that dynamic – and help as many organizations as she can to revitalize their people strategies and build talent and leadership super-strength and reap those benefits.

Besides being an innovator herself, what’s different about Susan’s approach is her synthesis of deep understanding of human behavior plus “I’ve been on the hook myself” practical experience.  She knows how to create success beyond just maintaining the status quo – even in demanding and turbulent times.  Her work on building innovation inside everyday companies is focused on this opportunity.

As a senior vice president in a Fortune 50 company, Susan was the chief architect of a grassroots innovation program that delivered over $230 million in 3 years in this fast-paced, highly competitive and challenging environment.

Working with companies of varied industries, Susan has also held lead roles in:  major enterprise transformations, CEO selection and support, Board development, M&A human capital strategy and integration, executive team selection and effectiveness, and employee and organizational culture transformation initiatives

She is the author of Innovation Secrets from the Front Lines: A Business Leader’s Guide to Creating New Sources of Growth and Profits.

Susan holds a PhD in Psychology, MA in Counseling Psychology, BS in Communications, BS in Psychology.
